Hello, my name is Shirl Ann and I am the owner of Shirlsphotography
So a little about me and how I got into photography... I am 57 years old, live in Plymouth and I have 2 adult children and have 4 beautiful grandchildren who I adore and love spending time with. My partner takes part in Trials bike riding and I started going along around 4 years ago. I started taking photos of the riders at trials and loved the amazing feedback I was getting. My confidence began to grow and I felt I had finally found something I felt really passionate about.
Last year I took the plunge and decided to make a business out of the thing I loved the most and this is where ShirlsPhotography began! Over the last 10 months I have been gaining experience within the industry, completing a level 1 qualification in Photography to help develop my skills. I am hoping to complete the level 2 in the near future.
My style is very natural and relaxed, which is what I feel makes a photo amazing. I hope you can see that I am passionate about what I do and strive to provide my clients with the most enjoyable experience.
I specialise in Wedding photography, but I also love doing any kind of photography from newborn and children's photography, boudoir and pets, through to sport such as football and of course bike trials - the reason I am here now. I also can be hired to photograph parties - any occasion is an excuse to get my camera out.
I feel my prices are both reasonable and affordable and would welcome you to make contact with myself to discuss any requirements you may have or to book a session with me.

It’s hard to find the words to express how happy I am with Shirls Photography so I’ll start from the beginning.
I received a message at 7am that my original photographer had cancelled on me. As you can imagine that is not the stress a bride needs the morning of her wedding but an hour later Shirl was up, ready and on her way to save the day! Shirl was so warm and welcoming which was the opposite to me at that moment when the nerves were kicking in but still Shirl kept reassuring me that everything was fine and all taken care of and really fit right in!
Now I’m not photogenic at all and I don’t like having my photo taken due to being self conscious but with words of affirmation and support from Shirl I stopped stressing about the way I looked and just had fun with it and I’m so glad I did.
Now to today when I received my photos (only 1 week later may I add) I am absolutely over the moon!! From capturing the perfect moments, every detail of the day and getting great photos of all of our guests it was like experiencing the day all over again and seeing the moments I missed.
Shirl, thank you so much for not only the beautiful photos but for putting up with my moods and self doubt! You handled it all so well and we are so grateful things turned out the way it did! You’re a star!

Thank you so much for attending the Devon County Junior Badminton squad training on Sunday. I also photograph trials bike riding. this is where it all started on my photography journey. 5 years ago i started to go to the events . which i really enjoyed. i was just taking photos on my phone , a year later i was bought a camera . which then progressed to where i am now . i Actually cant thank the trial community enough. because they are the reason i am doing what i love so much . Because of the wonderful support and comments i had from my images i had taken
